JIU JITSU CHANGES EVERYTHING

Build confidence, discipline, strength, and real-world skill in a clean, welcoming academy for kids, adults, beginners, hobbyists, and competitors.

Our Purpose

More than Jiu Jitsu—building confident kids, strong adults, and resilient people through world-class instruction, discipline, and community.

Kid's Class

Our kids program is built on the balance of discipline and encouragement. We challenge kids with structure and accountability while creating a supportive environment where they feel seen, valued, and empowered. The goal is bigger than Jiu Jitsu—we’re helping build confident, respectful, resilient kids prepared for life.

Adult Class

Our adult program is built for every experience level—from complete beginners to seasoned competitors. We train hard, sharpen real skill, and foster an inclusive culture where teammates of all backgrounds support each other’s goals on and off the mats.

Elite Coaching

We believe great coaching builds more than skilled athletes—it builds confident people. Our coaches are dedicated to helping every student reach their goals in an inclusive, supportive community where everyone is challenged, encouraged, and treated like family. We strive to develop discipline, humility, and character both on and off the mats.

The King's Gambit Difference

More than great Jiu Jitsu—we're building confident kids, strong adults, and people of character through world-class coaching, discipline, and community.

Inclusivity & Community Driven

Everyone has a place here --- and every member shares the responsibility of protecting a culture built on respect, humility and teamwork

Beginner Friendly

No experience required.  We meet you where you are and help you grow with confidence from day one.

Championship Proven

World-class coaching built on years of developing champions, while supporting every student's personal goals

Character First

Every student represents their family, coaches and team --- on and off the mats.  We strive to develop humble, respectful leaders whose character speaks louder than their accomplishments.

The King's Gambit Experience

Here from the families, competitors, and everyday students who make King's Gambit what it is.

Contact Us

Do I need any experience to start?

Not at all. Most of our new students have never stepped on the mats before. Our coaches will guide you every step of the way.

Can I try a class before signing up?

Yes! We offer a free 7-day trial so you can experience our classes, meet our coaches, and see if King's Gambit is the right fit for you.

What do I need to do to try a class?

Just show up 10 minutes before your first class! We'll help you sign up for your free 7-day trial, get you fitted with a complimentary loaner gi (for gi classes during your trial), and answer any questions before class begins. Just bring a water bottle, and we'll take care of the rest.

What should I wear for my first class?

Wear comfortable athletic clothing without zippers or pockets. If you're attending a gi class, we'll provide a complimentary loaner gi. Please bring a water bottle, arrive with your fingernails and toenails clipped and filed for everyone's safety, and come ready to learn and have fun!

Do I need to buy a gi before my first class?

No. During your free 7-day trial, we'll provide a complimentary loaner gi so you can experience training before purchasing your own. If you decide to join, we'll help you get fitted for an academy-approved gi.

Where are you located?

We're conveniently located at 1424 Airport Fwy, Suite U, Bedford, TX 76022, serving students and families throughout Bedford, Hurst, Euless, Colleyville, Grapevine, North Richland Hills, and the surrounding Mid-Cities. We offer plenty of free parking directly in front of the academy, including two dedicated parent drop-off and pick-up spaces reserved for our youngest Little Grapplers, making arrivals and departures quick, safe, and convenient.

What age can my child start?

Children can begin training as young as 3 years old. We offer age-appropriate classes for ages 3–5, 5–8, and 9–14, with each program designed to match your child's age, maturity, and skill level. As students get older, many of our teenagers train in both the 9–14 class and the adult class before transitioning to the adult program full-time, helping them build confidence and prepare for the next level.

Can parents, grandparents, or other family members watch class?

Absolutely! Family members are welcome to watch from our designated viewing area. We simply ask that everyone refrain from coaching or yelling instructions from the sidelines so students can stay focused on their coaches and enjoy a positive learning environment.

What classes do you offer?

We offer Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai classes for kids and adults of all experience levels. Our schedule includes both gi and no-gi Jiu-Jitsu, so whether you're looking to learn self-defense, improve your fitness, or compete, there's a program for you.

Do I have to compete?

Not at all. Many of our members train for fitness, self-defense, stress relief, and personal growth. Competition is always optional.

Is your academy beginner friendly?

Absolutely. We've built our program around helping beginners succeed. Whether it's your first day or your hundredth, you'll be supported by coaches and teammates who genuinely want to see you improve.

What makes King's Gambit different?

We're more than a martial arts academy. We combine world-class instruction with an inclusive community and a character-first culture. Every student is challenged to grow in skill, confidence, humility, and integrity—both on and off the mats.

What is your coaching philosophy?

Our mission is to help every student reach their goals—whether that's learning self-defense, getting healthier, or winning championships. We believe great coaching develops better people, not just better athletes.

Are there women who train there?

Absolutely. We have women of all experience levels training in our academy, from complete beginners to experienced practitioners. Everyone trains in a respectful, supportive environment.

Is Jiu Jitsu good for self-defense?

Yes. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is one of the most effective martial arts for self-defense because it teaches leverage, technique, and control rather than relying on size or strength.

Will I have training partners my size?

We do our best to pair students with training partners of similar size, experience, and skill level whenever appropriate, especially for beginners.

Do you have changing rooms?

Yes.  We have changing rooms available for students.

Do you welcome hobbyists as well as competitors?

We do our best to pair students with training partners of similar size, experience, and skill level whenever appropriate, especially for beginners.
